Cecilia Twain/ Violinist

Picture
Growing up in El Cerrito, CA, I was constantly hearing the sound of the Banjo which my mother would be practicing on for many hours a day. I received my Bachelor in Arts of Music at California State University, Hayward. Shortly after graduation I was fortunate to land a job playing violin in a musical group called Regency Strings at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in San Fransisco. This was a fun and exciting job in which all the music was memorized. A little later when I moved to Nevada I played Violin at the Silver Legacy Resort and Casino for every Sunday brunch for thirteen years , at their fabulous Sterling's Sea food Steak house until 2009. I am now enjoying playing music for many special occasions and events. Most of all I feel blessed that I have been able to work with some of the finest musicians and to have worked with or appeared with many legends in the entertainment industry such as  Ella Fitzgerald, Victor Borge, Joel Grey, Bob Hope and many others. Cecilia entertained and played music with her mother and hall of Famer, Georgette Twain for many years . Cecilia was one of the founders of the Carson Valley Pop's Orchestra and was concertmaster of that group for ten years. She now prefers to play music on her own and in Regency Strings.

Brad Lund

Picture
Brad Lund was raised in central Ohio. He began studying the bass at age ten, and during his school years, played in the Columbus Symphony Youth Orchestras. He attended the Eastman School of Music in Rochester, NY, where he received a bachelors degree. While at Rochester, he played in the bass section of the Rochester Philharmonic and Syracuse Symphony Orchestras. Summers, he played in the opera orchestra of the Spoleto Festival in Spoleto, Italy. After college, he migrated west to the bay area where he substituted with the San Francisco Symphony, joining them for their East Coast tour including a performance at Carnegie Hall.

Weighing the odds of landing a job with a major symphony, he did what any sensible music major would do: he took a day job. He is recently retired from Fed Ex Corporation after a thirty two year career. While working days, Brad continued to play music around the Reno/Tahoe area and pursue his love of singing, playing with country, jazz and church bands. In 2001, he won an audition to join the bass section of the Reno Philharmonic Orchestra. Today, he continues to play with the RPO while playing with The Regency Strings and other local bands

Special thanks to Dr. George Worth for all of his music making in Regency Strings! We are sad to see him retire, but happy to see where the rest of his fruitful life takes him!
